Hi Everyone:
Yesterday, I made it here to Dawson Creek, the actual physical beginning of the Alaska Highway. One of these pictures shows the highway marker, in “downtown” Dawson Creek.
The scenery along the way from Prince George BC, where Eric, Cilla, and Emilie live, was more like Northern Virginia or western Maryland, with a good deal of agriculture – lots of hay being harvested.
I had my usual afternoon latte – yup, even here, at Hug-A-Mug, and bought a few necessary things at (can you believe) Wal-Mart.
Dinner was at a nice pub connected to my Super (clunk) 8 (crash) Deluxe (clank, clank, crash, crash,TOOOOOOOT) Motel artfully built right next to a Canadian Pacific (ROAR) main freight line.
Check out the glaciers, along the “Icefields Parkway” between Lake Louise and Price George BC.
All is well, I am having fun, I miss you all, my dear family and friends, wish I could beter convey how remarkable this trip has been so far, and pray that you all are well and happy…
Regards…
Cliff
